The Nigerian Grammys is here again!
The Headies Award that’s risen to become Nigerian music’s most coveted (yet most spirited awards) from its first Award in 2006 when it was still Hip-Hop World Awards.
Year after year, the big boys hardly turn up for the event while most of the conversation is centered around the next rated awards, an award that you should win if you’ve had a good run as a newbie In the industry.
Well, this year edition will see the introduction of 8 new categories. These categories include:
- Best Afrobeat Single
- Best Afrobeat Album
- Music Exec. Of The Year
- Best African Collaboration
- African Artist Of The Year
- International Artiste Of The Year
- Best Inspirational Single
- Digital Artist of the Year
The event will be held outside the shores of Nigeria for the first time at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Atlanta, Georgia, the USA, on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
With the addition of these six new categories, naijmobile will make some predictions regarding who we think will come out on top.
Best Afrobeat Single

- “Made In Lagos (Deluxe Edition)” – Wizkid

Davido is not your mate, he is definitely taking this award, while the other nominees on this list have done well, especially Kizz Daniel , I can’t see this getting away from Davidp, but in the unlikely hood it’s not OBO, then it’s Kizz Daniel.
International Artiste Of The Year

Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran would have to slug this one out, I see Justin Bieber coming out on top, I mean with all his features with Wizkid and Omah Lay, Justin Bieber has a better chance of winning.

Timi Dakolo has to take this crown off the strength of its creativity and richness but if they’re appealing to inspirational story behind the song then it’ll most likely be Chidinma as her transformation to gospel music was truly inspirational.
Digital Artist of the Year

This is Ckay Season Yo! His songs have become extremely popular on TikTok and other social media platforms, and it’s great to see that he’s now starting to receive the recognition he so truly deserves.
