One can say that it is an emotional time for fans of Big Brother Naija Housemate Laycon after he made a shocking and quite scary revelation about himself.
The housemates were having a conversation, be a discussion led to another and each one of the remaining housemates started talking about their genotype.
Laycon on his part hesitated to say his genotype because according to him, people will begin to pity him and assume he is sick and he doesn’t want pity.
After a little bit of persuasion, he revealed that his genotype is SC. This means that he has sickle cell anemia. Dorathy responded that explains his stature.
This explains Laycon’s slim stature and the reason why he is always fully dressed while going to bed at night. Recall former housemate, Erica once body shamed Laycon.

This revelation has made a lot of fans sad. Most people are even surprised that he did not take advantage of his health to gain pity from viewers. They also made reference to a former housemate, Erica, who insulted him a lot based on his physical appearance. She called him ugly and many other unprintable names.
In case you do not know, Sickle cell anemia is an inherited red blood cell disorder in which there aren’t enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout your body. It is one of a group of disorders known as sickle cell disease.
For a child to have sickle cell anemia, it means both parents carry the defective gene, which is why people are always warned to make sure their genotype is compatible with that of their partner before marriage. Unfortunately, as of now, sickle cell anemia does not have a cure, there are only drugs to help manage its complications.
Hemoglobin SC disease is the second most common type of sickle cell disease. It occurs when you inherit the Hb C gene from one parent and the Hb S gene from the other. Individuals with Hb SC have similar symptoms to individuals with Hb SS. However, the anemia is less severe.
