The third edition of the 2018 Soundcity MVP awards Festival will hold soon, Wizkid, BurnaBoy, Navy Kenzo, Davido, AK. A all receive nominations. Full details below.

Competitions this year, is quite exciting. We have the likes of Wizikid receiving the highest amount of nominations in the 2018 Soundcity MVP Awards which includes Best Pop, Best Male  MVP, Digital artiste of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Listener’s choice, viewers choice and African artiste of the Year

Nigerian artistes, Burna Boy and Davido are also topping the lists of nominations and has also been nominated for the position of African artiste of the year. Many other  artistes such as Sarkodie, Platinumz, Yemi Alade, and Tiwa Savage are also nominated as well as South African rappers such as Nasty C, A.K.A and Tiwa Savage.

In the Best Hip Hop category, we see the likes of Kwesi Arthur, M.I. Abaga, Khaligraph Jones, Kwesta and A.K.A all competing for this position. It would be worthy to note that Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz is up for three nominations – Best Collaboration, Listeners’ choice and Song of the Year.

A new category has been included to herald African DJ who without them, many well-known songs would have taken a different outlook. In inaugurate this new category ” African DJ of the Year” nomination, we see the likes of DJ Neptune, DJ Spinall, DJ MicSmith, DJ Arafat, Prince Kaybee, Black Coffee, DJ Kaywise, DJ Xclusive,  DJ Vyrusky and DJ Maphorisa.

In the spirit of the “Africa is Now” narrative. A lot of excellent individuals in Africa will be celebrated. Many of this individuals and personalities are in the areas in creative arts, fashion, entrepreneurship, sports, digital influence, socio-political development as it ties into entertainment.
