2020 it’s turning out to be a year of good Television as MTN is set to bring back one of Nigeria’s favourite music reality TV show- MTN Project Fame. However, there will be a change of name as it’s rebranding to MTN Y’ello Star.
From Iyanya to Omawunmi to Chindinma these guys are products of the MTN Project Fame years ago. MTN Project Fame was launched in 2008 but sadly it came to an unexpected end in 2016.
Will MTN Y’ello Star be different From MTN Project Fame?
The main focus of Project Fame was to identify people with musical talent and give deserving ones a launchpad into the music industry. Many people auditioned to be a part of the show and some of them are still relevant today.
According to MTN, Y’ello Star is also a platform to identify and launch musical talents in the country. There will be regional auditions which will hold at centers in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos. Winners from the Regionals will proceed to the incubation hub in Lagos.
The only difference between Project Fame and Y’ello Star is that Project Fame was open to other West Africa Countries. Y’ello Star is only open to Nigerians with musical talent.
