Movie producer, Felix Olejede raves about new project ‘Protues’

Excellence is defined by the ability and capacity to be great at what one does. Felix Olojede a rising Nigerian movie producer is an exact replica of the word excellence in the electronic media industry, as he is creating a buzz with his latest film – Proteus.

In a recent interview with Naijmobile, the brilliant film producer and director shared his experience as a rising filmmaker and talked about his new project that will be hitting the cinemas soon.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Felix Olojede. I am a film producer and director. I am passionate about filmmaking and using it has a medium to tackle society issues. This is why I established 14011 motion picture, a a production outlet located in Lagos Nigeria.

As a filmmaker in the Nigerian entertainment scene, how would you describe the journey so far?

The journey has only begun for me, but it has certainly been a journey of twists and turns. However, all glory and honor to the Almighty God. It has been an amazing journey. It is difficult to regret doing what you love doing. So many challenges but the passion for the craft keeps on the right path always. But generally, it has been exciting, and I am motivated to keep going.

How was it in the beginning, a young man trying to hone her skill?

Growing up, I was always intrigued by the movies I watched. Infact, I often found myself wishing to change the script if I felt the movie was not exciting. This made me had the passion and zeal to tell a story from my own perspective.

At the beginning of my career, It was challenging keeping up especially in a country that somethings seem not to be working. But I so much believe in my dreams.

How do you relax?

I am a socialite. I put the same efforts into my work when I am having fun. I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy chilling at the beach with good music. When I am by myself, I binge on movies.

What genre of movie do you enjoying watching?

I love any good movie but watching thrillers is my cup of tea.

‘Proteus’ What inspired you to take on the project?

Hmmm… I and my business partner (James Abinibi) love to tell a stories about a topical issues. Presently so many things is happening around the world. People are facing different challenges. They find it difficult to figure things out. Audio visual is one the mediums to reach out to people that regardless of what is going on now around the world now. There is always an hope.

What element of truth will this movie expose to the public?

It exposes the truth that there is no shortcut to success and it pays to be hopeful. Keep the hope alive. Stand to what you believe in… things maybe difficult while you are trying to figure yourself out. But keep pushing. Don’t give up.

Tell us few interesting parts about the project and why everyone should get to see it.

Not every thing that’s glitter is Gold. Calm down and stay focus.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

I pray and hope to remain relevant and be known for the positive impact 14011 motion picture will be making. I hope to have a bigger platform, touching more lives through the multiple projects I’d be embarking on.

A word for people out there who see you as a role model and would want to follow the same career path.

If you’re like me and you have the burning desire to do more,don’t be afraid. Swing into action in any positive way possible. Be in sync with your real self. Have passion for what ever you are doing. Also, make sure you have a proper education about the career. The more education you have about you career, the better chances you have at using your knowledge to make the world a better place.
