Check out 6 Popular Nigerian Pastors Who Lied Using God’s Name

Everybody lies from time to time, it’s just human nature. We don’t wish to be dishonest but sometimes well, we can’t help but bend the truth a little, Pastors are exactly the same when it comes to telling  lies. Unfortunately for these 6 Nigerian pastors, they lied using the name of the Almighty God. The lies from these pastors came as a result of their prophecies which never came to pass.

According to  Hebrew 6:18 “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie…” So when a pastor’s prophesy fails to come to pass it clear that they lied about God revealing it to them. Deuteronomy 18:22 said: “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

Below are 6 Nigerian pastors whose prophecies failed woefully.

1. Rev. Chris Okotie

Rev. Chris Okotie is the Senior pastor of the the Household of God Church, Ikeja, Lagos. During the build up of the 2003 Presidential election, Rev. Chris Okotie, told the world that God ask him to vie for presidency and he would come out victorious. He contested then for the seat of the president under the Justice Party and was loosed woefully as the election was won by former President Olusegun Obasanjon. Fast Foward to 2007, he used God’s name again as he contested for the presidential seat under the Fresh Democractic Party . He was humilated again as the election was won by Lae President Umaru Yar’Adua.

In 2014, Okotie was at it again when he told the world that God asked him to contest the third time in 2015.

“I will run in 2015, God willing. God spoke to me about my participation in the political process, which was why I took the step in the first place. He has not said anything contrary. I don’t want to talk about our strategy for now, we have learnt from our past experience, we don’t want to talk about it for now,” he said. The 2015 election was won by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the second crown came along and that this time, it was the crown of death and declared to the consternation of the nation that the crown seemed to settle on the President’s head squarely,in other words Obasanjo would die. Also, Suleman prophesied that, except Americans prayed, President Barack Obama would seek the third term with a likelihood of the presidential elections not holding.
