The Samsung Galaxy X is one of the strangest smartphones ever created. The first smartphone that can be bend in all directions into a much smaller pouch. Its existence however is still something of a mystery yet to be felt but we have seen all of its concepts released through leaks, side comments and more recently the official announcement by Samsung.

In an interview with CNBC recently, Samsung CEO DJ Koh of the Korean firm said the foldable phone will be released in November. And we sure are waiting to see it!

However, before we see the foldable phone, in reality, here’s what we do know as released by Samsung about this lovely thing of beauty.

Expectations for the Samsung Galaxy X Foldable phone.

First, it is obviously set to be released November 2018 and according to the press release, there will be only a limited amount available at its launch, 100,000 units. We, therefore, speculate that as a foldable technology, it should be a smartphone/tablet hybrid.

if you have followed the tech world, you will see that we have been teased about this innovation for quite some time even before we did see the Note 9 and Galaxy S8, all of which were released recently. Initial reports stated that this phone will be released 2019, but according to CEO DJ Koh, it will be shown off this year.

Remember, the Samsung Galaxy X should not be confused with the Galaxy S10 that we also are anticipating. But the Galaxy X smart device is the foldable phone that Samsung has teased us with little bits of information for 8 long years.

Naturally, we do not know a lot of details about this device as it has all been in whispers. We do not know what will power this device but there has been a lot of speculations into what the screen would like? the display? the design?

Well, sources a bit close to the real deal has divulged this much via the Korea Herald.

A source suggests that the Galaxy X will be stretched into a 4K screen. But not much is resolved on the creation of the high-resolution display.

Another source which seems a bit more concrete, a video we saw in 2016 states that it may be a 5.7 inch 1080p OLED display on an automated control having a pixel density of 386ppi.

Design?

We envision that it would be central foldable tech design making allowance that the device is folded into a compact more. The images we saw in November 2016, confirms this suggestion but those images do not agree with the tablet/hybrid expected.

For the battery power, Sammobile speculates that it will possess batteries from 3,000mAh to 6,000 mAh. (Imagine that!)

it would be important we also state that Lenovo and LG have also indicated the release of foldable phones soon. But not much has been revealed about the release of these devices. Although, some sources state that LG may release its brand of foldable phones in almost the same time as Samsung. We wait to see that!

Well, from the fact that we have, speculations and rumors, Samsung is not releasing this phone as a one time deal but a series of devices. This was also confirmed by Samsung CEO, DJ Koh at the press interview.

Lastly, new leaks state that the Samsung Galaxy x will have a dual camera on the rear. This is not new anyway. But picture a foldable device, dual camera, and battery powered as well. Then you see that this setup is indeed new, if not weird and almost unthinkable.

However, many years ago, no one knew we could have flying “birds” or “talking phones”. So here we are waiting to join in the unveiling ceremony. And maybe take a peek or two at this lovely tech device.
