There are multiple reports in France and Italy that Napoli have finalised all the paperwork for Victor Osimhen, with a youth team player going to Lille.
Sky Sport Italia, RMC Sport, Tuttomercatoweb, and more all maintain the final contracts have been signed, as they were waiting to resolve an issue with his agent. It was more to do with timing than the precise cash sums involved in commissions.
The deal, worth €70m, which could rise to €80m with bonuses, was completed before the player traveled to Nigeria for holiday, our correspondent gathered from his agent Osita Okolo.
“We are hoping they (Napoli and Lille) announce the deal soon as they promised,” Okolo said.
“He signed for Napoli last Friday. There was no way Osimhen would have left for Nigeria without completing his deal to Napoli.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze have been quarantined in isolation in Lagos after the duo arrived Nigeria aboard a private aircraft on Monday on holidays. The 21-year-old striker underwent similar self-isolation when he arrived in the country in May for his father’s burial alongside Paul Onuachu and Imoh Ezekiel.
Now it’s up to Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis to announce the deal, as is his tradition, on Twitter. Goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis is already reported to be making the move to Lille as part of the deal.
Today, multiple sources point to Napoli youth team defender Claudio Manzi also joining Lille this summer. The usual debate remains over exactly how much this operation will cost, as Italian sources are adamant it’s €50m plus up to €10m in bonuses.
In France and Nigeria, they continue to insist it’s €81m including bonuses.
