The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is eyeing Italy and Germany friendlies matches for Super Eagles after Brazil clash in October, according to General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi.
The Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Brazil in Singapore but the nations football governing body might not be done with high-profile events as they want to maintain the high standards.
NFF General Secretary Sanusi said via All Africa:
“We want to maximise the FIFA’s windows by playing quality matches. It is not about playing matches but about quality opposition to strengthen the Super Eagles,”
“It is fairly a long time since we played Italy and we will want to take them on again. We also need a friendly match against Germany, he enthused.
“We are not interested in teams below us in FIFA’s ranking.Sanusi also confirmed that added inspiration to email the Squadra Azzurra and Die Nationalmannschaft stems from the special belief that came from the Brazil experience.
“There is one thing the friendly against Brazil did, it helps to boost and give Eagles the necessary confidence.
“It is fairly a long time since we played Italy and we will want to take them on again. We also need a friendly match against Germany”, he concluded.
